“Once I got to Israel and had to start dealing with all the bureaucracy of making Aliyah, Garin Tzabar was there for me and made the entire Aliyah and enlistment process simple.”
My name is Maya Bresler, and I’m a lone soldier serving in a combat unit called Search and Rescue.
I made Aliyah in June of 2017 from a small town in the state of Washington called Washougal and am currently living in northern Israel in Kibbutz Geva. I grew up in a place with little to no connection to Israel, however, Israel has always been an important part of my identity and so I made the decision to make Aliyah and enlist to the Israeli Defense Forces as a lone soldier through Garin Tzabar.
Once I got to Israel and had to start dealing with all the bureaucracy of making Aliyah, Garin Tzabar was there for me and made the entire Aliyah and enlistment process simple and made sure that everyone in the Garin had someone to care for them through it all.
From our Kibbutz Staff to the Mashkyot form the IDF and the entire Kibbutz, we had everything taken care of, whether it was with all the government offices, Military authorities, and even day to day necessities such as food. Through this, they’ve made our kibbutz feel like home, and everyone in our Garin feel like a real family away from home.
