My name is Inbal Bakin, I’m 24 years old and I’m originally from Los Angeles California. I decided to make Aliyah back in December 2014 after I spent a year in Israel doing Sherut Leumi. I couldn’t help myself, if fell in love with Israel and decided to join the army with Garin Tzabar. Our Garin was chosen to live on Kvutzat Yavne in the south of Israel not far from Ashdod. Garin Tzabar couldn’t have made the Aliyah/drafting processes easier for me. They were they for me and supporting me every step of the way, if it was all the paperwork or helping us choose our positions and getting to know the land of Israel.

Being surrounded by people who are all going through what you’re going through and slowly becoming a family is the key factor of the support system provided by Garin Tzabar to IDF lone soldiers.

 Once perek klita was over I drafted to be an artillery instructor  who taught soldiers how to drive an APC’s (Armored Personnel Carriers), MLRS ( Multi Launch Rocket System), and other armored vehicles. I had the full responsibility of the soldiers in the course when we were out in the field. Making Aliyah and joining the army wasn’t the easiest thing to go through, but Garin Tzabar was there along the whole way to make it as easy as possible. They were my family and support from start to finish. Thanks to Garin Tzabar I made two families in Israel my army family and my Garin Family and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
